On 6-8 July 2022 Lecce hosted the first International Conference on eXtended Reality (XR Salento). The main objective of the event was to provide a platform for scientists, engineers, educators and students to discuss the latest research and news regarding eXtended Reality, including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR).
Georg Regal (AIT Austrian Institute of Technology) presented the poster “Challenges in Virtual Reality Training for CBRN Events”.
The XR Salento was a great opportunity to present VERTIgO, which focuses on the creation of a European VR platform for CBRN training and an integrated CBRN VR mask, as well as training scenarios for military and civilian operators in the field of CBRN. By participating in the XR Salento we had the opportunity to discuss the VERTIgO project with relevant actors of the XR community.
